TL;DR

Subject Manager (Education/Language Acquisition): Managing the development and delivery of academic assessments for Language Acquisition subjects within the Diploma Programme with an accent on quality assurance and standardisation. Focus on leading authoring teams, overseeing the assessment cycle, and ensuring fair grade awarding.

Location: Hybrid working in Cardiff, UK (office presence required one day per week)

Salary: £39,451 per annum (0.8 FTE)

What you will do

  • Lead teams of examiners and authoring teams to produce high-quality academic assessments.
  • Oversee the assessment cycle, including administrative set-up and standardisation processes.
  • Lead grade award meetings to ensure fairness and accuracy in candidate grading.
  • Manage assessment-related expenses and timelines for designated subjects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop valid and authentic assessment models using digital technology.
  • Represent the assessment perspective during curriculum reviews.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Cardiff, UK.
  • Degree level qualification in a related subject.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in educational assessment, teaching, research, or translation.
  • Excellent English comprehension skills across various academic areas.
  • Ability to analyze statistical information and draw conclusions.
  • Flexhirify.globalility to work weekends during peak examination sessions (May/June and November/December).
