What you will do

  • Lead the examining and awarding activity across ESOL International qualifications to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Chair QPEC and awarding meetings to evaluate assessment materials and set grade boundaries.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and standardisation of a global network of examiners and assessors.
  • Produce comprehensive reports evaluating assessment performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor examiner performance using sampling, seeded responses, double marking, and moderation.
  • Provide expert guidance on assessment-related queries, appeals, and malpractice investigations.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in ESOL assessment across speaking, listening, reading, and writing components.
  • Deep knowledge of CEFR and its application within assessment design and delivery.
  • Proven experience in awarding, moderation, and maintaining standards within a regulated environment.
  • Ability to interpret complex assessment data to inform reporting and decision-making.
  • Experience managing and training examiners, including addressing underperformance.
  • Must be based in the UK to align with the smart working model.
