TL;DR
Business Development Representative, Public Sector: Develop and execute targeted outbound strategies to engage public sector organizations including government agencies and public institutions with an accent on research-driven prospecting, stakeholder mapping, and qualification in complex procurement environments. Focus on generating sales-ready meetings, partnering with Account Executives and Marketing, and iterating on outreach for longer sales cycles.
Location: New York (Hybrid) – work out of NYC office 3x a week at 60 Madison Ave; standard schedule 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week.
Target $31.97 per hour + variable commission.

What you will do
- Develop and execute outbound strategies for public sector organizations via email, phone, LinkedIn.
- Research and map stakeholders in complex organizations like HR leaders and procurement officers.
- Generate qualified meetings for Account Executives using company criteria.
- Partner with Marketing on tailored messaging and campaigns.
- Maintain CRM data and provide discovery notes.
- Test and iterate outreach for procurement-driven sales cycles; build knowledge of RFP and compliance.
Requirements
- 3–12 months professional or internship experience (public sector/government/regulated industries a plus).
- Strong interest in selling to government, education, mission-driven orgs.
- Structured research skills for complex hierarchies.
- Creative, persistent outbound across channels; data-driven improvement.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; tailor messaging.
- Strong organizational skills; work NYC office 3x/week, 40h standard schedule.

- Experience with public sector, government, or highly regulated industries.
