TL;DR

People Partner (AI): Scaling people strategy and employee experience for a high-growth legal AI platform with an accent on talent decisions and employee relations. Focus on building frameworks for high-performing teams and navigating multi-state employment law compliance.

Location: Must be based in the United States. Hybrid schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays in office) for those within 50 miles of San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT.

Salary: $155,000 – $180,000

What you will do

  • Partner with leaders across Engineering, Product, Sales, and G&A to align people strategy with business priorities.
  • Act as the primary advisor for managers on employee relations, performance management, and coaching.
  • Analyze trends in employee engagement and retention to recommend data-informed solutions.
  • Manage leave administration, workplace accommodations, and compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws.
  • Lead talent development initiatives including career pathing, manager training, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and people ops to optimize the onboarding experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with 2+ years as an HRBP or People Partner.
  • Experience working at a high-growth startup or technology company.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law across multiple U.S. states.
  • Proven ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels and influence without authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong bias toward action and problem-solving in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting distributed or remote-first workforces.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and analytics tools like Rippling, Lattice, or BambooHR.
  • Experience building people programs at companies in the 50-200 employee stage.
