Network Engineer III (Cisco)

Location: On-site at the San Diego Headquarters or another company location; remote work requires management approval based on business requirements. Domestic travel of up to 25% is required.

Salary: $95,717–$132,808–$169,898 per year.

What you will do

• Install, support, and improve complex network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, application delivery controllers, MPLS WAN, and IPsec VPNs.
• Contribute to network architecture and supporting services such as DNS and DHCP.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and security systems using diagnostic tools and network utilization data.
• Implement disaster recovery procedures, infrastructure changes, and solutions that meet defined requirements.
• Coordinate acceptance testing and defect resolution with vendors and collaborate on infrastructure and proof-of-concept projects.
• Provide rotational on-call support, mentor less experienced staff, document configurations, and prepare management reports.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree and 8+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including 4 years as a subject-matter expert in the relevant areas.
• Cisco CCNP or CCDP certification is required.
• Experience with Citrix NetScaler ADC, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, ASR/ISR routers, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, and SSL certificate management.
• Knowledge of Solaris, Linux, Windows, VMware, NetFlow, SNMP, shell scripting, ITIL, SAS-70, and networking protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and Ethernet.
• Ability to read packet captures, troubleshoot practical network problems, and work effectively with colleagues, management, vendors, and external clients.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and beyond standard business hours when required.

Nice to have

• Check Point CCSA certification.
• Experience with HIPAA, SOX, and PCI requirements.
