Network Engineer I (Cisco)

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite at Hudson Yards

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
• Monitor network availability, performance, and capacity, and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, and connectivity issues.
• Support Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 infrastructure, including fiber, copper, VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and spanning tree.
• Maintain connectivity for building systems such as HVAC, access control, cameras, elevators, life safety systems, and IoT devices.
• Assist with firewalls, ACLs, network segmentation, VPN connectivity, upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.
• Maintain network diagrams, device inventories, configuration records, and clear communications with stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience working in a Cisco environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Cisco switching, routing, wireless technologies, and 9K, 7K, and 5K network fabrics.
• Working knowledge of MPLS, VRF, VPC, VoIP/QoS, VLAN tagging, WAN, VPN, firewalls, and network cybersecurity practices.
• Experience with Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 network infrastructure, including fiber, copper, and RF.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or a similar certification.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki, IoT architecture and integrations, SolarWinds, EIGRP, HSRP, BGP, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Analytics or data science skills.
