Associate Director, Audience Development (Growth): Driving the discoverability and growth strategy across all digital platforms with an accent on search, AI ecosystems, and cross-functional alignment. Location: Hybrid (Yonkers/NYC). Must be based in one of the registered US states: AZ, CA, CT, IL, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, TX, VT, VA, or Washington DC
Salary: $160K-$180K

What you will do
- Lead the global audience strategy and integrate discoverability across all digital channels and platforms.
- Oversee the Audience Development team and establish best practices for search results, answer engines, and nascent technologies.
- Develop and optimize growth strategies for owned and distributed surfaces including web, app, newsletters, YouTube, Reddit, and TikTok.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Editorial teams to align on distribution, engagement, and KPI frameworks.
- Advocate for brand visibility and authority signaling within generative AI ecosystems.
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of full-time staff and project-based freelancers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in audience, content, or growth strategy for a digital publisher, tech nonprofit, or mission-driven brand.
- 6+ years of experience managing and mentoring teams in highly matrixed environments.
- Proven experience working within a nonprofit environment and with commerce or shopping sites.
- Proficiency with multiple search analytics tools and experience leading newsletter programs.
- Must be based in the USA (specifically in the states where the company is registered to do business).
- Not eligible for sponsorship or relocation assistance.
