What you will do

• Drive performance improvement for defined commodities in Japan.
• Lead purchasing activities with commodity buyers across Japan and align the supplier panel with the Global Commodity Buyer.
• Monitor supplier capabilities and market trends, manage supply chain risks, and follow contract management guidelines.
• Develop material purchasing strategies, participate in key supplier nominations, and conduct annual supplier negotiations to achieve savings targets.
• Promote supplier transfers to low-cost countries and support new project launches in Japan.
• Handle escalations from plant, supplier quality, logistics, and other functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• At least 3 years of purchasing or buyer experience.
• Working knowledge of business systems such as SAP.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese.
• Experience in metal purchasing is preferred.
• Automotive, manufacturing, or global-company experience is preferred.
