TL;DR

Workday Business Systems Analyst (HCM): Own technical configuration, testing, and operational excellence of Workday HRIS with an accent on Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Security. Focus on designing scalable modules and integrations, managing security and compliance, troubleshooting systems, and driving continuous process improvements through audits and automation.

Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid policy: at least 25% time in office)

Salary: $205,000 - $265,000 USD

What you will do

  • Configure and implement Workday modules, integrations, and custom reports to support HR and business processes
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits, Comp, Talent, Payroll, and People Analytics teams to translate requirements into solutions
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day issues, lead change management, and ensure system security and compliance
  • Develop reports and dashboards for actionable insights
  • Conduct audits, gather feedback, and optimize processes for scalability and automation
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and integrations

Requirements

  • 5+ years as Workday Business Systems Analyst with expertise in HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Security
  • Strong Workday technical skills: architecture, security, integrations, configuration, testing, and implementation
  • Experience with full lifecycle implementations or module expansions
  • Analytical problem-solving to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building with stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and process excellence in fast-paced environments

Nice to have

  • Workday certifications in HCM, Benefits, Compensation, or related modules
  • Experience with calculated fields, business processes, and integration tools (EIB, Studio, Web Services)
  • Knowledge of HR/Finance systems integrations and data privacy regulations
  • Project management, change management, and high-growth tech company support
