Principal Workday Systems Analyst (Workday)

Location: Lexington, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 office days per week

Salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually, plus benefits and potential incentive plans

What you will do

• Own Workday Compensation and Benefits configuration and serve as the subject matter expert for Total Rewards programs.
• Translate business requirements from Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, and regional HR leads into scalable system designs across 14 countries and currencies.
• Lead configuration, testing, and deployment for merit, bonus, open enrollment, and other compensation and benefits functionality.
• Contribute to Core HCM configuration and business process design across the HRIS team.
• Manage end-to-end testing, including regression testing for Workday’s biannual releases.
• Maintain data integrity and security, build reports and dashboards, document processes, and mentor HRIS team members.

Requirements

• Advanced hands-on Workday configuration expertise in Compensation and Benefits, with the autonomy to own complex end-to-end solutions.
• Working knowledge of at least one additional Workday module, such as Core HCM, Absence, Performance, Recruiting, Security, or Advanced Reporting.
• Experience supporting compensation and benefits programs across multiple countries and understanding local system requirements.
• Experience managing Workday releases from impact assessment through testing and rollout.
• Strong analytical, communication, discretion, and data-protection skills, plus a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Workday Pro certification in Compensation, Benefits, or Advanced Compensation.

Nice to have

• Experience with EIB loads, Workday Studio, or Core Connectors for benefits or payroll integrations.
• Exposure to Workday Extend or advanced custom reporting, including calculated fields and matrix reports.
• Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading small configuration projects.
