IT & Security Consultant (Pre-Sales)

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 base + uncapped commission (OTE exceeding $235,000)

What you will do

• Lead discovery workshops with executives and technical stakeholders to assess business goals, operations, risks, and constraints.
• Own Business Transformation Assessment (BTA): coordinate data collection, validate findings, and create prioritized roadmaps.
• Translate technical insights into client recommendations with options, scope, and outcomes for executive and engineering audiences.
• Design fully managed or co-managed services across infrastructure, endpoint, cloud, identity, backup/DR, and security.
• Partner with delivery teams to validate feasibility, define responsibilities, and set onboarding expectations.
• Scope SOC services like MDR/XDR, email security, vulnerability remediation; support sales with presentations and proposals.

Requirements

• 7+ years in IT/cybersecurity, progressing from hands-on technical to strategy/leadership roles
• Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, simplify complexity, and present to executives/technical audiences
• Strong knowledge of IT domains: networking, Windows/Linux, endpoint management, identity, backup/DR
• Working knowledge of security: EDR/MDR/XDR, email threats, vulnerability management, incident response, governance
• Authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship limited
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with sales, delivery, and partners

Nice to have

• Experience in managed services or consulting environments
• Certifications: Security+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS/Azure, CISSP, CISM or equivalent
