Principal Network Engineer (Global)

TL;DR

Principal Network Engineer (Global): Develop and own multi-year roadmap for network capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response across NA, EMEA, and APAC with an accent on global alignment, scalability, and resilience. Focus on building detailed program plans, capacity forecasting models, DR exercises, and incident response strategies to ensure operational excellence.

Location: On-site in Sterling, VA (3 days required, 2 days flexible) or remote in the United States. Travel up to 20%.

Salary: $180,000-200,000 Base + Bonus

What you will do

• Develop multi-year roadmap for network capacity, DR, and IR; build program plans and drive cross-functional delivery.
• Lead capacity planning, forecasting models, and reference architectures for scalability.
• Architect DR strategies, conduct exercises, and align with business continuity.
• Oversee incident response, integrate with monitoring and processes to reduce MTTD/MTTR.
• Define standards, adopt automation, monitoring, and patch management globally.
• Manage stakeholders, vendors, risks, and provide executive briefings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related.
• 8–10 years program management in complex network/resilience initiatives in global environments.
• Expertise in capacity planning, DR, IR, network protocols, monitoring, firewall, VoIP, cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), routing/switching, automation.
• Experience in data centers, cloud networking, or large-scale enterprises preferred.
• Exceptional communication, analytical skills; ability to drive global alignment.
• Travel up to 20% required.

Nice to have

• Certifications: PMP/PgMP, ITIL, CCNP/CCIE, AWS/Azure Networking, CISSP/CISM, SANS GCIH.
