System Engineer - Patents & IP (EV Fast-Charging)

What you will do

• Act as the technical liaison between R&D, system engineering, patent attorneys, and IP management.
• Identify patentable technical solutions in EV fast-charging systems and analyze inventive aspects and technical differentiation.
• Support patent applications with structured technical descriptions, system-level explanations, and drawings.
• Conduct technical prior-art searches and analyses.
• Provide technical input for patent infringement assessments and freedom-to-operate evaluations.
• Maintain IP knowledge resources covering patent landscapes, competitor analyses, and internal inventions while promoting IP awareness in R&D.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in a technical role with strong exposure to patents and IP analysis.
• Strong understanding of complex technical systems, preferably EV fast-charging systems, power electronics, energy conversion, or industrial and automotive electronics.
• Experience with technical patent analysis, claim interpretation, and invention disclosure support.
• Structured, analytical, detail-oriented working style and strong communication skills.
• Fluent English required.

• Knowledge of Italian and/or German.
