What you will do

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close cycles for complex insurance products.
• Analyze financial trends and results to provide detailed commentary on key financial drivers.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Investment Accounting, and Actuarial teams to master insurance product accounting.
• Support the Financial Reporting team in preparing financial statements, footnote schedules, and regulatory reports.
• Document and execute internal controls and recommend improvements to the overall control environment.
• Research and implement new statutory and GAAP insurance accounting guidance for new products or transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 6+ years of experience in public accounting or a large corporate environment.
• Proven expertise in insurance accounting, general ledger processing, and month-end close activities.
• Must be based in or able to work from Springfield or Boston, MA.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or active progress toward obtaining it.
• Experience with ERP tools such as SAP, Cadency, or Alteryx.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting standards.
