TL;DR

Data Architect / Data Steward / Subject Matter Expert (SME): Serve as lead advisor on enterprise data management, providing strategic and technical leadership in data architecture, stewardship, governance, migration, integration, warehousing, database design, and cloud best practices. Focus on researching and evaluating solutions, recommending improvements, leading data analysis, migration, validation, and producing data dictionaries to ensure data quality, integrity, and scalability.

Location: Onsite at DEA offices in Merrifield, VA; DEA Headquarters in Arlington, VA; and other government offices. Secret clearance required.

What you will do

  • Serve as SME for enterprise data management, leading in architecture, stewardship, governance, migration, integration, warehousing, database design, and cloud practices.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend solutions for data management and cloud modernization.
  • Lead data analysis, migration, validation, clean-up, and mapping to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Produce, maintain, and update data dictionaries and metadata documentation.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to developers and IT teams on architecture, integration, and database management.
  • Advise on leveraging systems for enterprise operations and coordinate IT plans with other groups.
  • Identify areas for policy revisions to support business expansion.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in data analysis, migration tools, modeling, integration, warehousing, and database design.
  • 5+ years addressing data migration, validation, clean-up, mapping, and maintaining data dictionaries.
  • 5+ years providing technical support in research, experimentation, business analysis, architecture, integration, and database management.
  • 5+ years providing data leadership to developers and IT infrastructure with awareness of future systems impact.
  • 5+ years coordinating IT plans, development projects, software upgrades, and new product installations.
  • 5+ years identifying needs for policy changes supporting business expansion.
  • Secret clearance required; work onsite at US government DEA locations.
