What you will do

• Define unified data models across devices, services, and cloud platforms.
• Establish standards for communication protocols (MQTT, REST), messaging structures, and API patterns.
• Design edge ingestion, cloud data pipelines, and scalable storage systems.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders across product verticals to align shared data and integration strategies.
• Build the foundation for analytics and AI, including predictive models and anomaly detection.
• Maintain architectural guidelines, data dictionaries, and governance processes to ensure data quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Architect.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with edge-to-cloud data flows, time-series data, and distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of MQTT, REST, event-driven messaging, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with IoT telemetry, embedded systems, or connected consumer products.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Apex, North Carolina.
