What you will do

• Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements like cloud services, software licensing, partnerships, and procurement contracts.
• Lead negotiations with customers, partners, and vendors to achieve business objectives.
• Provide legal advice on sales, data privacy, IT security, product development, marketing, HR, finance, and R&D.
• Support corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and work with external counsel.
• Collaborate on scalable legal processes, risk assessment, and policy development for SaaS and AI products.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least 3 years of post-JD legal experience, preferably in commercial transactions or technology matters.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environment managing complex workload and building relationships.
• Balance legal risk with business objectives, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house counsel experience in technology or SaaS.
• Experience with educational institutions or education-sector customers.
• Familiarity with legal technology like CLM systems or contract automation.
• Advising on AI-related legal issues (model training, data governance, licensing).
• Supporting government or public-sector clients.
