TL;DR
Engineering Manager (Fintech): Leading the Processing team to build and maintain real-time interfaces between and external payment networks with an accent on low-latency and high-availability. Focus on designing transaction processing interfaces, managing physical network peering, and ensuring operational excellence for critical payment flows.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Poland, or Czech Republic). Hybrid option available for NYC-based employees.
Salary: $169,000 - $265,000 plus equity

What you will do
- Ensure high reliability, low latency, and correctness for transaction processing interfaces and related services.
- Lead delivery of new capabilities across authorization, clearing/settlement, disputes, and network integration surfaces.
- Own and evolve the infrastructure supporting physical network peering with card network partners.
- Raise the bar on operational excellence, including observability, incident response, and on-call readiness.
- Partner closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize high-impact work.
- Manage, coach, and hire engineers in a player-coach capacity, contributing hands-on when needed.
Requirements
- Experience managing and growing engineers, including coaching, feedback, and hiring.
- Strong technical judgment in system design for low-latency, high-availability systems.
- Solid networking and infrastructure knowledge (peering, connectivity, failover).
- Experience with Java, Python, or Kotlin and AWS.
- Must be located in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Poland, or Czech Republic.
- No visa sponsorship or assistance provided.
Nice to have
- Experience with payment processing, card network protocols, authorization flows, or clearing/settlement.
- Strong interest in the fintech and payments domain.
