Caseworker

TL;DR

Caseworker (Human Services): Providing resettlement and self-sufficiency support for refugees and immigrants with an accent on case management, social service referrals, and advocacy. Focus on developing individualized resettlement plans, coordinating medical and financial resources, and ensuring successful acculturation.

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, CA, USA. Regular travel in and around the service delivery area is required.

Salary: $26 - $27 per hour

What you will do

• Manage the refugee resettlement process from pre-arrival preparations to successful acculturation.
• Develop individualized resettlement and self-sufficiency plans based on client needs and eligibility.
• Coordinate social service referrals, medical access, and advocacy services.
• Distribute and track direct assistance to clients.
• Monitor client progress at regular intervals and modify case plans accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with case file management and timely data entry in databases.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree, ideally in Social Work or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in human services, preferably with refugee populations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with current insurance for regular travel.
• English: C1 level (fluency in written and spoken English) required.
• Ability to provide services outside of traditional work hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be based in or able to work in San Jose, CA.
