TL;DR
Software Development Manager (SaaS/Monetization): Leading the development of a multi-product, multi-region monetization platform for legal AI technology with an accent on scalability, billing systems, and cross-functional collaboration. Focus on designing technical solutions, coaching engineering talent, and integrating AI into the development lifecycle.
Location: Hybrid (Burnaby, Canada). Must be local or able to commute to the Burnaby hub (minimum 2 days per week in office)
Salary: $176,000 – $264,000 CAD

What you will do
- Lead and grow a team of engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and career development through effective 1:1s.
- Drive requirement definitions and roadmaps for the multi-region monetization platform in collaboration with Rev-ops, Finance, and Product teams.
- Contribute hands-on to the system by designing architecture, writing code, and performing technical reviews.
- Implement AI tools and methodologies across the project and development lifecycle to increase efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver pragmatic and sustainable technical solutions.
- Actively participate in the interviewing and hiring process to strengthen the engineering team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in people leadership within software development for large-scale SaaS products.
- Strong background in hands-on software development and solving complex technical problems.
- Ability to communicate technical roadmaps and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, coaching, and retaining top engineering talent in a fast-paced market.
- Location: Must be based in or able to commute to the Burnaby hub for minimum 2 days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Expertise in building quoting, subscriptions, and billing systems at scale.
- Experience with Stripe Billing or Salesforce integration.
- Background in product management or business analysis.
