TL;DR

Field Marketing Manager (Startups): Designing and executing the field marketing strategy for the US startups segment to drive adoption of Claude with an accent on VC partnerships, founder-facing events, and pipeline generation. Focus on building 0-to-1 operational playbooks, managing tier-1 VC relationships, and scaling the startup motion.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: required in-office at least 2 days a week)

Salary: $255,000 - $320,000 USD

What you will do

  • Own the US Startups field marketing calendar end-to-end, including strategy, planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Build co-marketing partnerships with tier-1 VCs and accelerators such as YC, a16z, and Sequoia.
  • Design and run founder-facing event formats including dinners, salons, hackathons, and technical workshops.
  • Partner with Startup Sales and BDRs on targeting and follow-up to convert event attention into qualified pipeline.
  • Create scalable operational playbooks for founder dinners, Demo Day activations, and hackathons.
  • Establish baseline metrics, dashboards, and ROI reporting for all startup field programs.

Requirements

  • Location: Must be based in or relocate to San Francisco, CA
  • 7+ years of experience in Field Marketing, Demand Generation, or ABM at B2B technology companies.
  • Proven experience building and running programs specifically targeting startups, founders, and developers.
  • Demonstrated success in 0-to-1 builder roles, creating marketing motions from scratch.
  • Deep fluency in the VC and accelerator ecosystem with existing relationships.
  • Strong operational rigor in vendor management and ROI dashboarding.

Nice to have

  • Direct relationships with YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, or Sequoia.
  • AI/ML field marketing experience at companies like OpenAI, Cohere, or Hugging Face.
  • Prior experience as an operator at an AI-native or developer-tools startup.
  • Visible thought leadership in the startup or developer ecosystem.
