TL;DR
Field Marketing Manager (Startups): Designing and executing the field marketing strategy for the US startups segment to drive adoption of Claude with an accent on VC partnerships, founder-facing events, and pipeline generation. Focus on building 0-to-1 operational playbooks, managing tier-1 VC relationships, and scaling the startup motion.
Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: required in-office at least 2 days a week)
Salary: $255,000 - $320,000 USD

What you will do
- Own the US Startups field marketing calendar end-to-end, including strategy, planning, execution, and measurement.
- Build co-marketing partnerships with tier-1 VCs and accelerators such as YC, a16z, and Sequoia.
- Design and run founder-facing event formats including dinners, salons, hackathons, and technical workshops.
- Partner with Startup Sales and BDRs on targeting and follow-up to convert event attention into qualified pipeline.
- Create scalable operational playbooks for founder dinners, Demo Day activations, and hackathons.
- Establish baseline metrics, dashboards, and ROI reporting for all startup field programs.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in or relocate to San Francisco, CA
- 7+ years of experience in Field Marketing, Demand Generation, or ABM at B2B technology companies.
- Proven experience building and running programs specifically targeting startups, founders, and developers.
- Demonstrated success in 0-to-1 builder roles, creating marketing motions from scratch.
- Deep fluency in the VC and accelerator ecosystem with existing relationships.
- Strong operational rigor in vendor management and ROI dashboarding.
Nice to have
- Direct relationships with YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, or Sequoia.
- AI/ML field marketing experience at companies like OpenAI, Cohere, or Hugging Face.
- Prior experience as an operator at an AI-native or developer-tools startup.
- Visible thought leadership in the startup or developer ecosystem.
