Portfolio Director (Fintech)

Portfolio Director (Fintech): Strategic oversight of a portfolio of client programs and projects for investment management software implementations with an accent on delivery performance, risk management, and client outcomes. Location: Hybrid in New York or Toronto (working from hirify.global’s office at least two days a week, flexibility to travel across the region when required)

Salary: $199,280–$298,920 USD (New York City)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of programs or portfolios of interconnected projects across multiple teams, domains, or geographies.
• Drive strategic alignment, governance, budgeting, resourcing, and benefit realisation for client portfolios.
• Establish and enforce governance frameworks, standards, escalation pathways, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage portfolio prioritisation, funding allocation, operating cadence, and performance reviews.
• Partner with Professional Services leadership on capacity planning, delivery strategy, and continuous improvement.
• Represent Project Management in senior internal and client forums, providing escalation support.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading large portfolios of complex client programs (typically 10+ years in project management or client-facing roles).
• Strong leadership, people development, and executive-level stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of delivery economics, risk, governance, and commercial awareness (Time & Material and Fixed Fee projects).
• Proven track record in managing strategic client engagements, building partnerships, and ensuring high satisfaction.
• Excellent communication, influencing, presentation, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Readiness to work hybrid from offices in New York or Toronto at least two days a week and travel across The Americas region.
