TL;DR

Technical IBM Mainframe Applications/Systems Analyst (IBM z/OS): Installation, configuration, and maintenance of mainframe systems and ISV software with an accent on system stability, security, and performance. Focus on troubleshooting system issues, performing IPL planning, and managing storage processes within IBM z/OS environments.

Location: Remote. Must be able to pass a Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation and work Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm CST.

What you will do

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems and components.
  • Manage ISV product installations, upgrades, and maintenance using SMP/E.
  • Customize system parameters, libraries, and subsystems to meet requirements.
  • Execute system IPL planning and apply maintenance via PTFs and APARs.
  • Troubleshoot system issues using dump analysis and problem determination.
  • Support storage management processes, including DASD, SMS, and DFSMS.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IBM mainframe system programming.
  • Strong proficiency with IBM z/OS internals, SMP/E, JCL, and TSO/ISPF.
  • Knowledge of system utilities such as IEBCOPY, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering or 8 years of additional relevant experience.
  • Ability to pass a Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation.
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm CST.

Nice to have

  • Experience with IBM CICS subsystems.
  • Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and high availability configurations.
  • Experience with mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning.
