TL;DR
Senior Engineer - Mainframe (Mainframe): Designing, modernizing, operating, and supporting enterprise mainframe environments with an accent on Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, NetView, z/WAS, and z/Linux. Focus on analyzing complex incidents, assessing technical and schedule risks, creating technical documentation, and driving stable delivery across architecture, migration, testing, and operations.
Location: Tokyo, Roppongi Hills, Japan
Requirements
- Deep expertise and hands-on experience with mainframe technologies and enterprise IT environments.
- Experience with mainframe modernization or technologies including Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, NetView, z/WAS, or z/Linux.
- Knowledge of LE/COBOL, mainframe hardware, and networking.
- Experience across applications, infrastructure, system operations, design, build, testing, migration, or incident response.
- Strong technical problem-solving, risk assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with architects, Project Managers, engineers, customers, and multiple delivery teams.
Nice to have
- Experience creating technical plans, blueprints, configuration models, diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Experience with process improvement, standardization, and automation.
- Motivation to grow as an architect or technical leader.
