Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin Multiplatform): Building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms with an accent on clear API design, efficient abstractions, and algorithm optimization. Focus on collaborating with product teams to scope projects, navigate integration tradeoffs, and shipping cloud functions and backend services.
Location: Birmingham, AL, USA. United States based.
Salary: 140,000-200,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience

What you will do
- Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and deliver via cross-platform SDK.
- Optimize functionality for faster loading and intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and algorithm improvements.
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
Requirements
- Systems thinking with end-to-end design and value on simplicity.
- Ability to work quickly, generate ideas, and prioritize shipping.
- Focus and collaboration skills in a high-growth remote startup environment.
- Preferred: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable); GCP experience a plus.
