What you will do
- Support design and development of power conversion systems.
- Assist in modeling and simulation of converter topologies and controls using MATLAB/Simulink or PLECS.
- Contribute to component selection, circuit design, schematic capture, and hardware bring-up.
- Characterize switching devices like IGBTs, SiC/GaN MOSFETs and magnetic components.
- Participate in prototyping, bench testing, waveform analysis, thermal profiling, efficiency measurement, and EMC evaluation.
- Document results and contribute to design reviews and team discussions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, with strong focus on power electronics.
- Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals, converter topologies, and switching devices.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SPICE, LTspice, or PLECS.
- Exposure to gate drivers, sensing circuits, and magnetic components.
- Experience with basic lab equipment and hands-on lab work.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; ability to work independently in fast-paced team environment.
Nice to have
- Prior internship, co-op, or research in power electronics.
- Experience with power converter control systems.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools like Altium or KiCad.
- High-voltage safety practices.
- Programming for test automation or control (Python, MATLAB, embedded C).
- Interest in renewables, EVs, datacenter power, or industrial electrification.
