TL;DR

Intern, Power Electronics Engineering (Power Systems): Designing and verifying power electronics systems for energy storage and data center technologies with an accent on EMT simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platforms. What you will do

  • Design and perform verification tests using EMT simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to determine and verify system requirements.
  • Simulate and analyze complex systems ranging from inverter control to large-scale site level controls.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate power electronics systems (AC/DC and DC/DC converters).
  • Verify inverter control board gate drivers and protection circuits.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree with a relevant research focus in power systems/power electronics.
  • Technical knowledge of grid-forming/following inverters, power plant controllers, DC/DC converters, and solid-state transformers.
  • Experience with HIL testing (preferably OPAL-RT, Typhoon, or RTDS) and modeling software like PSCAD and PSS/E.
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and embedded control design in C/C++ (preferably TI C2000 DSP).
  • Familiarity with SiC and IGBT semiconductor devices and industry standards such as UL 1741, IEEE 1547, and IEEE 2800.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and E-Verify.
