What you will do
- Design and optimize electrical topologies to reduce cost and increase scalability for high-density AI compute.
- Develop basis-of-design documents, single-line diagrams, and power system studies including load flow and short circuit analysis.
- Lead technical evaluations of equipment vendors, manufacturers, and design consultants.
- Evaluate AC and DC power distribution options for liquid-cooled GPU rack deployments.
- Drive FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing for critical infrastructure and rack deployments.
- Operate an R&D program to validate new equipment, telemetry, and facility-to-hardware interactions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities such as data centers.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, and protection systems.
- Experience producing electrical designs, commissioning plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and utility coordination.
- Must be based in or able to work in San Francisco, USA, with periodic travel to data center campuses.
Nice to have
- 15+ years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Direct experience with hyperscale data centers, GPU clusters, or liquid-cooled compute environments.
- Experience qualifying new electrical products from prototype through manufacturing ramp.
- Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, or reliability analytics platforms.
