What you will do

• Design and deploy high-quality backend code in a fast-paced environment using Rust.
• Scale new products and features while ensuring stability and performance.
• Lead the team through management, sprint planning, and mentoring.
• Make key technical decisions balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability.
• Optimize infrastructure, databases, and system architecture for high efficiency.
• Act as a player-coach, spending approximately 80% of time coding.

Requirements

• Experience designing and building high-scale backend systems.
• Proven ability to lead teams, organize projects, and drive execution.
• Strong technical, architectural, and troubleshooting skills with a taste for API design.
• Proficiency in Rust, Postgres, and Redis (or ability to ramp up quickly).
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Francisco, CA.
