Salary: $171,000 – $233,100

What you will do

• Define the technical architecture for the data platform using Databricks, Fivetran, and dbt.
• Own the AI strategy, evaluating and selecting chatbot and enterprise search tools that meet high security standards.
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.
• Act as a player-coach, mentoring DevOps and Data Platform Engineers while remaining hands-on with code.
• Coordinate with Software Engineering teams to ensure shared infrastructure stability.
• Collaborate with IT/Security to maintain strict ITAR/EAR compliance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software or data engineering experience with hands-on AI/ML work.
• Expertise in designing data platforms on Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Deep knowledge of the AI landscape and RAG architectures.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and eligible for access to export-controlled information under ITAR/EAR.
• Must be willing to work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or hardware manufacturing.
• Track record of shipping production-ready AI products.
• Experience with data integration tools like Airbyte or dbt.
• Familiarity with regulated environments such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP.
• Experience with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
