TL;DR

Small and Medium Government Account Executive (GovTech): Managing the end-to-end sales cycle for local government entities to modernize budgeting and financial reporting with an accent on consultative selling and public sector procurement. Focus on building trust-based relationships with public officials and driving adoption of cloud-based SaaS solutions.

Location: Must be based in the USA. Preferred hybrid (one day per week) in Boston, MA; Tampa, FL; Kansas City, KS/MO; or Phoenix, AZ.

Salary: Base $70,000 - $100,000 USD + uncapped variable first year target range of $140,000 - $200,000 USD

What you will do

  • Manage the full sales cycle for the Small and Medium Government (SMG) market from initial engagement to final agreement.
  • Serve as a consultative partner to help local governments transition from manual workflows to cloud-based budgeting and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans for municipalities, counties, school districts, and special districts.
  • Lead discovery sessions and deliver tailored software demonstrations that showcase impact on community outcomes.
  • Build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance Directors, City Managers, and Department Heads.
  • Maintain rigorous data integrity and pipeline forecasting within Salesforce.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the USA.
  • 2 to 5 years of quota-carrying experience in software sales with a record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Proven ability to drive momentum through multi-stakeholder evaluation processes.
  • Deep interest in and ability to speak fluently about public sector budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Experience navigating public sector procurement and complex purchasing cycles.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.

  • Ability to work hybrid in Boston, Tampa, Kansas City, or Phoenix.
