TL;DR
Small and Medium Government Account Executive (GovTech): Managing the end-to-end sales cycle for local government entities to modernize budgeting and financial reporting with an accent on consultative selling and public sector procurement. Location: Must be based in the USA. Preferred hybrid (one day per week) in Boston, MA; Tampa, FL; Kansas City, KS/MO; or Phoenix, AZ.
Salary: Base $70,000 - $100,000 USD + uncapped variable first year target range of $140,000 - $200,000 USD

What you will do
- Manage the full sales cycle for the Small and Medium Government (SMG) market from initial engagement to final agreement.
- Serve as a consultative partner to help local governments transition from manual workflows to cloud-based budgeting and reporting solutions.
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans for municipalities, counties, school districts, and special districts.
- Lead discovery sessions and deliver tailored software demonstrations that showcase impact on community outcomes.
- Build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance Directors, City Managers, and Department Heads.
- Maintain rigorous data integrity and pipeline forecasting within Salesforce.
Requirements
- Must be based in the USA.
- 2 to 5 years of quota-carrying experience in software sales with a record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Proven ability to drive momentum through multi-stakeholder evaluation processes.
- Deep interest in and ability to speak fluently about public sector budgeting and financial reporting.
- Experience navigating public sector procurement and complex purchasing cycles.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
