TL;DR
Technical Engineering Manager (AI): Lead engineers building Workflow Metadata Extraction Agents for contract lifecycle management with an accent on agentic extraction, LLM orchestration, and metadata synchronization. Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City; office attendance required at least twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus additional days for events.
Base Salary: $220,000 - $235,000 (total comp up to $255,000).

What you will do
- Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and pragmatic delivery.
- Lead execution of Intake, Review, and Archive agents for automated contract metadata extraction.
- Contribute technically: spec, design, and code front-end agentic interfaces and LLM orchestration layers (30-40% hands-on).
- Own and improve scalable, reliable core workflow systems.
- Adopt AI tooling like Cursor and Claude Code to boost engineering velocity.
- Partner with Product and Design on roadmap, cross-team dependencies, and legal use cases.
- Define testing strategies for AI outputs with Quality Engineering.
Requirements
- 5+ years software engineering experience shipping production web applications.
- 2+ years engineering management or technical leadership, mentoring engineers.
- Hands-on with LLMs: prompt engineering, agentic loops, latency/reliability handling.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js.
- High agency in zero-to-one projects, navigating ambiguity.
- Product mindset focused on user experience for legal professionals.
