Electrical Technician - High Voltage Lab

TL;DR

What you will do

• Set up and carry out electrical tests under supervision of engineers or technologists.
• Perform laboratory measurements, record results, and operate computers and test instruments.
• Conduct routine repairs, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Build or modify test jigs and support structures for electrical tests.
• Specify and purchase materials for lab operations and maintain facilities in safe, organized condition.
• Keep log books and files for tests, procedures, and equipment calibration.

Requirements

• Certificate of Technology in Electronics (power/control), Electrical, Power, Telecommunications, Instrumentation, or Automation.
• 2 years of related experience in lab setting up and testing electrical equipment, components, and cables.
• Good knowledge of electrical testing procedures, standards, quality assurance, and instrumentation calibration.
• Analytical skills, ability to modify test methods, train staff, and basic report writing.
• Basic MS Office, safety/WHMIS regulations knowledge, and physical ability to lift 30lbs, use hand tools, stand for extended periods.
