Electrical Designer (Mining Equipment)

Location: Onsite in Lively, Ontario, Canada; travel to customer sites up to 10%.

Annual base compensation: CAD 70,000–85,000.

What you will do

• Design extra-low, low, and high-voltage electrical systems for underground hard rock mobile mining equipment.
• Create electrical schematics, harnesses, and panel drawings.
• Select and optimize electrical components with vendors and suppliers.
• Develop and execute testing and design validation plans for new products and production.
• Support production, service, assembly, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate electrical system functionality with mechanical, hydraulic, purchasing, aftermarket, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma with applicable experience.
• 1–2 years of electrical design experience, preferably with mobile equipment or a related industry.
• Experience with load analysis, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, electrical testing equipment, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with CAD software, electrical components, circuit design, power distribution, and electrical system integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, perform basic tests, and understand regulatory requirements and design standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work.

• Experience with battery-electric vehicle design and testing.
