What you will do
- Provide advanced technical support for DC fast charging (DCFC) and Level 2 charging systems, including power supply kiosks and site electrical systems.
- Perform engineering-level investigation and troubleshooting of charging station malfunctions, system faults, and capacity constraints.
- Analyze field data, event logs, and monitoring outputs to diagnose root causes and identify recurring technical issues.
- Support commissioning, acceptance testing, and post-deployment stabilization of new EV charging sites.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with CEC, CSA, and BC Hydro standards.
- Collaborate with BC Hydro, contractors, and OEMs to resolve complex technical issues and align with operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian university or an institution recognized in Canada.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or infrastructure operations.
- Valid Driver's License (Class 5) in good standing.
- Must pass pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing.
Nice to have
- Experience in the operation, deployment, or lifecycle management of DC fast charging and Level 2 systems.
- Knowledge of utility-facing electrical infrastructure projects, specifically with BC Hydro.
- Working knowledge of OCPP, backend monitoring systems, and the interaction between EV charging loads and utility systems.
