TL;DR

Senior Electrical Engineer & Team Lead (Aerospace): Developing electrical and communication interfaces for satellite payloads with an accent on high-speed hardware solutions and team leadership. Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario. Relocation packages available for approved roles.

What you will do

  • Lead a small engineering team, managing direct reports, conducting 1:1s, and overseeing performance reviews.
  • Develop and own hardware solutions for satellite technology and communication interfaces for internal and customer payloads.
  • Lead design reviews and conduct engineering analysis including derating, reliability, radiation, EMI/EMC, and power budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RF, mechanical, software, and FPGA) to deliver full product solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, block diagrams, and system architecture reports.
  • Drive the development of future satellite generations to advance space communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of hardware design experience specializing in schematics and layout.
  • Proven experience leading the development of multi-board systems and defining electrical interfaces.
  • Expertise in layout for processors, FPGAs, SoCs, DAC/ADCs, and memory (QSPI, UFS, DDR3/4, eMMC).
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (JESD204B, 10G Ethernet) and clock distribution/timing stability.
  • Ability to own a project from the architecture stage through to design validation using lab tools like oscilloscopes and VNAs.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace or high-reliability (high-rel) environments.
  • Experience designing hardware specifically for radiation environments.
  • Proficiency with Altium.
