What you will do
- Lead electrical design efforts for sub-systems, coordinating engineers and cross-discipline teams.
- Design, implement, and test maintainable hardware and firmware systems with configuration management.
- Prepare and review design documentation including schematics, board layouts, and specifications.
- Act as technical interface with customers and provide coaching to other engineers.
- Participate in and chair technical reviews, prioritize tasks in deadline-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 10+ years of experience
- Eligible to obtain NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance; capable of working on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles
- Ability to work independently and lead small-to-medium engineering projects.
- Apply diversified engineering principles to designs.
- Prepare cost estimates and manage technical work packages.
Nice to have
- Experience with underwater acoustics, military electronics, and underwater warfare.
- Low-noise analog, power amplifier, digital design, and embedded microcontroller (STM32, DSP).
- Familiarity with Cadence tools (OrCAD, PCB Designer, PSpice), lab equipment, and peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, RS485).
- Network communication (Fiber Optic Ethernet), embedded tools, DSP applications, C/Assembly programming, FPGA VHDL.
- Project management, Master's degree, willingness to travel within Canada, US, and overseas.
