What you will do

• Perform and oversee testing of mechanical, civil, electrical, or chemical items by recording measurements and operating specialized instruments.
• Review project test protocols and inspect products to ensure conformity to established standards and specifications.
• Provide technical assistance in the field regarding testing requirements and protocols.
• Operate a variety of equipment used in the testing setup and report equipment malfunctions.
• Manage the organization and storage of test specimens and perform equipment maintenance.
• Perform routine laboratory cleanup and janitorial services.

Requirements

• Completion of a Certificate of Technology in Civil, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Chemistry disciplines.
• Must maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
• Pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing is required as the role is safety-sensitive.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a lab setting performing tests on various equipment and materials (asset).
• Experience in soil and materials laboratory testing, including sample preparation and conditioning (asset).
• Hands-on mechanical experience.
