TL;DR

Senior Manager of Human Resources (HR Operations): Owning the day-to-day HR operations engine to support the employee lifecycle from hire to transition with an accent on labor relations, compliance, and benefits administration. Focus on building seamless onboarding/offboarding systems, managing leave planning, and scaling the internship program.

Location: Must be based in the United States. Remote options available, or hybrid with offices in New York City and Oakland, CA.

Salary: $120,000 - $138,000

What you will do

  • Lead labor relations, performance management, and interpersonal dynamics across the organization.
  • Manage the full onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, including contracts, Justworks entry, and exit interviews.
  • Oversee benefits administration, insurance enrollment, and leave planning (FMLA, state, and parental leaves).
  • Administer HRIS tools and handle operational essentials like SUI updates and hardware management.
  • Develop and evolve the internship program through university partnerships and hiring coordination.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience as a Generalist or HRBP.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent software (Justworks, Greenhouse, Culture Amp).
  • Must be based in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Ability to handle delicate labor relations with high emotional intelligence and professional discretion.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Personal or professional experience working with the criminal justice system.
