TL;DR

Design Release Engineer (Automotive): Defining requirements and leading the design and development of seating components with an accent on component interfaces and production fidelity. Focus on leading technical reviews, managing ICD requirements, and overseeing the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (report to office at least 3 times a week). No immigration sponsorship provided.

What you will do

  • Lead design and technical reviews for seating system components.
  • Define and negotiate ICD requirements for component and sub-system interfaces.
  • Manage PDT activities including timing, parts lists, DFM, and issue tracking.
  • Conduct studies on cost, mass, and complexity to support program direction.
  • Release production designs on time to meet commodity requirements.
  • Oversee the launch of seating components at assembly plants and supplier sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Ability to implement functional strategy and manage complex programs independently.
  • Proven expertise in resolving complex technical issues and leading research.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

  • Experience with vehicle launch cycles, product development, and integration.
  • Background in automotive seat development, engineering, and manufacturing operations.
