What you will do

• Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services with integrated security and observability.
• Develop event-driven architectures, multi-stage processing pipelines, and optimized data paths for high-throughput trade lifecycle management.
• Partner with domain experts and global stakeholders to model and digitize firm business processes and drive modernization.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through design, testing, and release using Agile practices.
• Orchestrate AI coding agents to rapidly comprehend large legacy codebases and generate production-quality code.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in Java (Java 17+ preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Devin, Gemini).
• Experience building event-driven and distributed systems, including messaging platforms like Apache Kafka.
• Strong proficiency in SDLC practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test/deploy workflows.
• Ability to rapidly navigate and debug large, unfamiliar codebases.
• Location: Must be based in New York, NY.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or Apache Camel.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Domain knowledge in Equities, post-trade, or financial services.
• Experience with asynchronous/non-blocking I/O frameworks (e.g., Vert.x, Netty).
