TL;DR

Associate Corporate Counsel (Labor & Employment): Providing legal guidance on employment matters and managing litigation for a high-growth automotive marketplace with an accent on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Focus on advising senior leadership on US employment laws, drafting corporate policies, and overseeing outside counsel for litigation.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in the US and hold an active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Salary: $140,000 — $176,000 USD

What you will do

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice on labor and employment matters, including hiring, discipline, performance management, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, etc.).
  • Draft and update critical employment documents such as offer letters, separation agreements, and employee handbooks.
  • Strategically manage employment and commercial litigation, including coordinating with outside counsel and conducting case assessments.
  • Support corporate initiatives, including reorganizations and M&A activity from an employment perspective.
  • Oversee legal spend and ensure efficiency of outside counsel.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 3-5 years of relevant labor and employment experience advising business clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience supporting or managing litigation matters.
