TL;DR

Regulatory & Product Counsel: Navigate complex legal landscape for a marketplace platform with an accent on regulatory compliance, product integration, and operations support. Focus on monitoring evolving laws, translating requirements into actionable business solutions, and managing real-time risks across FCRA, TCPA, Fair Housing, consumer protection, and data privacy.

Location: Fully remote (US work authorization required via E-Verify/I-9; East Coast hours; TX/FL/GA bar preferred)

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 a year

What you will do

  • Monitor and analyze regulatory changes (FCRA, TCPA, Fair Housing, consumer protection, FTC/marketing, data privacy) and provide decision-ready guidance.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations for real-time legal support and actionable recommendations.
  • Build and improve compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and conduct audits.
  • Handle investigations, regulatory inquiries, and generalist support including host matters, zoning, and customer escalations.
  • Triage high-volume legal intake as first point of contact and escalate risks.

Requirements

  • J.D. with active bar license (TX, FL, or GA preferred; East Coast hours required)
  • ~5+ years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with FCRA, Fair Housing, TCPA, consumer protection, FTC/marketing, data privacy
  • Strong legal research, writing, and practical risk assessment
  • Experience partnering with Product, Marketing, or Operations teams
  • Ability to manage high-volume intake in fast-paced startup
