TL;DR
Senior Vehicle Dynamics Controls (Automotive): Designing and developing Vehicle Motion Control software for multi-axle electric vehicles with an accent on torque vectoring, traction, stability, and vehicle dynamics. Focus on implementing embedded control and diagnostic algorithms, validating requirements, and conducting unit, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle testing.

Location: Hybrid in Oshawa or Markham, Ontario; office attendance required at least three times per week.

Salary: CAD 90,900–136,400 or CAD 115,000–164,000 annually, depending on position-related factors.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and development of Vehicle Motion Control features for multi-axle electric vehicles.
  • Develop control and diagnostic algorithms using MATLAB, Simulink, C, and embedded software.
  • Analyze vehicle dynamic conditions and provide feedback on system and feature design.
  • Define software unit tests and conduct model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle testing.
  • Support requirements development, safety and regulatory compliance, and resolution of vehicle, plant, and customer controls issues.
  • Mentor new team members and collaborate with controls, systems, architecture, and calibration teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in control systems development, including hardware and software integration, testing, and requirements validation.
  • Experience reading and debugging embedded C/C++ source code and developing MATLAB/Simulink models.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, serial data communication architectures, controller hardware, and electronic module failure modes.
  • Experience managing complex assignments, leading meetings, influencing stakeholders, and working autonomously in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of vehicle chassis controls development experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, electronic chassis systems, OBD-II diagnostics, and automotive safety integrity levels.
  • Experience with SAFe, GM component specification and release processes, plant modeling, and MIL/SIL/HIL testing.
  • DFSS Black Belt certification and experience working in a global environment.
