Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 a year

What you will do

• Perform boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys for roadways, bridges, and civil projects.
• Conduct field surveys using GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors.
• Prepare plats, survey maps, alignments, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
• Interpret engineering plans, ensure MDOT/SHA standards compliance, and manage survey control networks.
• Process field data into deliverables using survey and CAD software.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, agencies, and maintain records to support project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) / State Highway Administration (SHA) project experience
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Maryland
• Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, levels, data collectors, and CAD software
• Knowledge of MDOT/SHA standards, specifications, and submission requirements
• Ability to interpret roadway and civil engineering plans
• Strong field and office surveying skills with attention to safety and documentation
