TL;DR

Data Protection Manager (AI): Assist the Group Head of Privacy Operations in delivering data protection and privacy compliance programme with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, advising on privacy aspects of innovative technologies and ensuring compliance with data protection laws and AI legislation. Focus on championing Privacy by Design principles, conducting assessments for AI and machine learning systems, and providing strategic expert advice on governance and risk mitigation.

Location: Hybrid working with office base in Osterley, London (UK)

What you will do

• Support maintaining hirify.global Group privacy vision, strategy, and culture in UK and Ireland businesses.
• Champion Privacy by Design across product lines, embedding privacy into systems architecture, design, and development.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, technology, and product teams to ensure privacy from ideation to deployment.
• Conduct Privacy by Design assessments and privacy reviews, leading those for AI/ML systems to mitigate risks.
• Enhance PbD policy and framework, responding to AI and Large Language Models developments.
• Partner with product teams to implement privacy controls and support data protection assurance, audits, and training.

Requirements

• Expertise in European data protection laws (GDPR, PECR) and global frameworks
• IAPP CIPP/E or equivalent recognised professional standard
• Familiarity with AI governance, EU AI Act, ICO guidance on AI and automated decision-making
• Technical knowledge of information security frameworks (ISO27001, PCI DSS, NIST)
• Strong stakeholder management with experience facing director/exec level
• Degree or equivalent in Legal, Data Protection, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Nice to have

• IAPP AIGPT and/or CIPT
• Understanding of Ofcom and FCA rules for Telecommunications, Media, and Insurance
