Senior Field Quality Engineer (Medium Voltage)

Location: Remote within the United States. Hybrid or in-office presence is preferred for candidates within commuting distance of the Rocklin, California headquarters. Regular travel to customer sites, the Rocklin office, and tradeshows is required, with occasional early morning meetings with headquarters in Germany.

Salary: $106,000–$138,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Perform evidence-based technical failure and data analyses for medium-voltage solutions.
• Apply the 8D method and other quality tools to identify root causes and define corrective actions.
• Conduct initial field analyses, on-site technical evaluations, and technical consultations.
• Collaborate with customer quality, supplier quality, service, application engineering, headquarters, and other international teams.
• Document failure patterns, prepare detailed failure descriptions, and provide technical findings to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Execute, monitor, and evaluate corrective and preventive actions across products, service teams, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education; a master's degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in research and development, technical failure analysis, and quality management, including customer relations.
• Technical expertise in medium-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, electrical systems, and converters.
• Expertise in the 8D method, 5 Why, Ishikawa diagramming, and Pareto analysis.
• Experience in solar, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or another regulated industry.
• Written and verbal English proficiency is required; regular travel and availability for occasional early morning meetings with Germany are required. Microsoft Office proficiency is also required.

Nice to have

• German proficiency.
• Experience with hermetically sealed equipment.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and JIRA.
