Location: Remote in the USA, with a San Francisco office option and extensive travel to active construction and commissioning sites.

Annual salary: $217,000–$289,000 for remote USA; $255,000–$340,000 for San Francisco.

What you will do

  • Inspect installed electrical systems against approved designs, specifications, single-line diagrams, and company standards.
  • Validate equipment ratings, protection settings, grounding, bonding, phasing, labeling, redundancy, and electrical failure domains.
  • Identify deficiencies and operational risks, document punch-list items, and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Review construction test results and witness factory, site, functional, and integrated systems testing.
  • Develop and review energization plans, operating procedures, switching procedures, and electrical safety controls.
  • Support energization, troubleshooting, commissioning, turnover, and initial IT or GPU-cluster bring-up across data-center electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Significant experience delivering, commissioning, or operating electrical systems in data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities, or large industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, generators, UPS systems, busway, grounding, and rack-level power.
  • Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, protection studies, relay settings, equipment submittals, test reports, and construction documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with site inspections, electrical testing, energization, commissioning, or operational turnover.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, energized-work controls, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience; willingness to travel extensively and spend extended periods at active sites.

Nice to have

  • Experience with hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI data centers and first energization.
  • Experience with Level 1–5 commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational-readiness processes.
  • Protective-relay, breaker, insulation-resistance, power-quality, or infrared testing experience.
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Procore, Bluebeam, or commissioning-management platforms.
  • Professional Engineer licensure, commissioning certification, or NETA-related experience.
