Power Engineer - Field Service (Marine and Oil & Gas)

Location: Remote within the United States, with possible bases in Broussard, Louisiana; New Orleans, Louisiana; Houston, Texas; or Atlanta, Georgia. Extensive domestic travel to customer and hirify.global facilities is required, up to approximately 80%, with some international travel.

Base salary: $97,370–$129,220 annually, plus a 10% annual incentive target.

What you will do

• Perform power system analysis, protection relay injection testing, and commissioning for electrical systems on offshore vessels.
• Troubleshoot, service, and commission generators, transformers, and medium- and low-voltage switchgear.
• Plan workloads, priorities, and project tasks to meet commissioning schedules and deadlines.
• Review system descriptions, functional specifications, testing procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with CAD and design teams to test, troubleshoot, commission, and update integrated system drawings and solutions.
• Work directly with customers to resolve technical issues and support industrial technology implementations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in marine or a related industry.
• Power system solution design, service, or commissioning experience.
• Experience with protective relay testing.
• Strong educational and industrial background in power generation and distribution, with extensive hands-on experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization is required.
• Willingness to travel extensively, work on industrial job sites, and support the hours required to complete field assignments.

• Automation or SCADA programming experience.
• VFD service and commissioning experience.
