TL;DR
Ergonomist (Manufacturing): Own the plant ergonomics process in partnership with UAW, using data, ergonomic analysis tools, and cross-functional collaboration to identify risks, implement solutions, and reduce cumulative trauma injuries. Focus on performing risk analyses, ensuring compliance with design requirements, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting production launches.
Onsite in Flint, Michigan. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Rotating/flexible shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd), overtime, and weekends as needed. Travel <25%.

What you will do
- Implement and co-administer plant ergonomics process with UAW partners per agreements and standards.
- Capture, analyze ergonomic/injury data, track trends, and report metrics to drive actions.
- Perform ergonomic risk analyses for jobs, material handling, and future programs using approved tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, medical, and union to develop/implement solutions and close issues.
- Lead training, injury-reduction initiatives, and ergonomic business planning.
- Drive innovation in tools/processes and support new product launches.
Requirements
- 2+ years ergonomics experience in manufacturing/assembly operations.
- 1+ years using ergonomic analysis tools (e.g., digital human modeling, software).
- Experience organizing/executing projects, managing priorities in fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving with data analysis; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI.
- Excellent leadership, communication, relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexible shifts, overtime, weekends as needed.
- Legal US work authorization; no sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Union environment experience (e.g., UAW).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, CIP/TIP, 3D CAD, DHM tools, GM systems (APS, TED).
